
Inside or outside the church, young adults are looking for opportunities to show compassion to their world. On March 27th a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck Japan. Ever since, millions of people have asked themselves, "what can I do to help?" While many seem overwhelmed by the amount of prayer, money, and resources given to Japan; others suggest that this compassion emphasis is nothing new. Serving locally and globally is on the rise, as people want to make a difference in their community and in their world.
It’s important as a ministry to provide opportunities to show compassion. Your young adults are aware of the hurting and suffering all around the world and right across the street, and they believe that they can do something to help restore the pain. Talk about social justice. Research and show the needs of your community and the world and then go and do something about it. A big part of your ministry should exist to go and be salt and light into the world. The more you participate in outreach and evangelism corporately, the more each individual will contribute personally.
